Introduction
PoundBid.com is a fantastic new way to buy all brands of sports supplements with huge discounts. Each auction starts with a starting price of under £1 and closes after a few hours. When someone bids, the price goes up by a tiny amount, sometimes as little as only 1p. When the auction closes and you're the last bidder - you get the item! It's that simple.
PoundBid.com can sell the item at this extremely low price by charging a small amount (30p to 50p) for each bid placed in the auction.
All you need to do is register with your email address, buy a bid package or use a mobile phone to text a bid. Each auction guarantees ultra low prices on all items.
When you've made a bid, your name will appear in the list as the highest bidder and the price goes up by a few pence! To keep it fair, the auction is extended by up to one minute for every bid to enable everyone to get a chance to bid before it closes.
How you bid in the auctions
1. Register
Register for PoundBid.com using your email address. Registration is free and we don't share your details with anyone. You can bid by text without registering but you'll need to register later with your mobile to claim after a successful auction.
2. Sign in and buy some bids.
Sign in to your members area and buy some bids. You can buy bids in packages from 30p each and then bid using the 'bid button' on the auction. You can see the number of bids you have remaining when you are logged in.
3. If you want to bid using your mobile, Text BID to 82085.
If you want to try bidding without buying a package of bids, use your mobile to bid on the latest auction by texting BID to 82085. Each bid costs £1 and is charged automatically to your phone. Either way you bid, the price only goes up by a few pence.
4. Get confirmation.
If you bid by text, you'll receive a confirmation text back. This message contains a 'claim code' to allow you to claim when you win. If someone else bids higher than you, you can bid again - the price only goes up by a few pence each time.
5. Claim your winnings
If you're the last bidder when the auction expires, claim your item using your members area. You pay only the amount of the auction and a small delivery charge.
Ordering your products
Taking delivery of your products couldn't be easier. In your members area you'll see a list of all the bids you've made. When you've won an auction, you'll see it listed here with a 'claim' button to order it.
Provide us with your delivery address, settle the auction amount by credit or debit card and we'll ship within 24 hours. We dispatch all products on a daily basis to any UK destination.
Every item we auction is brand new and direct from the warehouse to you. We also operate a 14 day money back guarantee if you're not completely satisfied.
PoundBid Auction Types
'25p Auctions'
When someone bids, the auction price rises by 25p. When the clock gets to zero, the highest bidder wins.
'15p Auctions'
The auction price rises by only 15p every time someone bids, instead of the usual 25p.
'Penny Auctions'
Like a normal auction but the price rises by only 1p each time someone bids.
'Bid Back Auctions'
The auction price rises by 25p, but whoever wins gets all their bid-pack bids back.
Hints and Tips
- Cheaper auctions are easier to win as there's often less competition
- To play safe, make sure you have enough bids in your account to 'buy now' before the auction ends. Then, you can either win or buy the item at trade price using your bids
- If you try to win with a few bids then you're likely to be unlucky. Expect to spend a few bids on an auction - you can still save a huge amount.
- Don't wait until the last minute to bid - if you're bidding by text your message can be delayed by your mobile network before our system receives it. You don't want to lose out because of a vital few seconds.
- You can bid as many times as you like. Bidding repeatedly on one item can be more successful than spreading your bids over many auctions.
- Sometimes auctions close early and items sell for VERY low amounts because they expire in the day when less people are watching - check back regularly to see your bids performance.
- If you see an auction about to end and you haven't registered yet but want to bid quickly to take top place... send a text to bid and register later.
- When you're bidding, consider how many people you are bidding against. Should you let others fight it out first and then come in last? Or appear dominant by staying on top throughout the auction to stop other people competing against you?
- Try watching a few auctions first before you bid so you see how the bidding takes place. Each auction gets considerably more busy towards its closing time.
- You don't need to be near a computer to bid.. send a text from the train, at work or on the bus, you may just get lucky. If you don't play, you don't win.
Note. Bids cost from 30p. When bidding by SMS you are NOT subscribed to any mobile service by bidding so you won't receive ANY texts from us in the future, only a confirmation text in return.
